I put this design together in the hopes of wearing it on our company trip to Cabo San Lucas next month.
It was difficult finding a history on Cabo San Lucas other than it being a popular destination for college students heading out to enjoy their Spring Break vacation. But since the Spanish were quit involved in discovering/colonizing North America, a conquistador seemed appropriate. The locals may not appreciate the subject matter, but history is written by the “conquerors.”
In case you are wondering why there is an apple in the tequila bottle — apples in tequila are not a local ritual — our company logo has an apple and it was the best solution I could think of to incorporate it into the design.
Unfortunatley, I wasn’t able to find a Direct To Garment printer that could deliver it in time… so… if anyone is interested, I am willing to part ways with the design. Obviously, I can adjust the text and remove the apple. Its currently 3 colors on black, but I can easily bring it down to 2 on black.
I submitted it to Emptees.com to see what kind of reception it would receive. I consider it to be my best work to date in this medium.
